The country of Ethiopia has been plagued by civil unrest and political instability. This landscape has created a difficult backdrop for translators to carry on with their own lives, much less accomplish translation work. On top of this, regional fears over COVID-19 are increasing.

But the truths of Scripture have given the team hope, and reminded them to pray for their leaders and live at peace with others. In addition, they’ve seen God’s hand of blessing on their region — political strife has calmed in recent months. The team has dedicated their country to prayer and asks you to pray for them as well.

Many Ale pastors and evangelists have been trained to preach in a language other than their own.

But now that God’s Word is becoming available in Ale, translation team members are helping Christian leaders transition into using their own language. During recent workshops, a total of 80 men and women learned how to effectively use the translated Scripture portions in ministry. Afterward, one participant eagerly traveled to a remote area to share the materials with others!
