From stubbornness to surrender.

Joseph, the son of an Okphela chief, was beginning to get a bad reputation.

The boy’s stubbornness had been an issue at home, and in time his attitude started affecting his relationships with neighbors.

But then one day, Joseph and his family took part in a literacy training workshop hosted by the Okphela Bible translation team. As the boy interacted with Scripture in his own language, he gained insight into which behaviors are pleasing to God.

The training session had such an impact on Joseph that he decided to study the New Testament daily. Eventually he surrendered his life to Jesus. “The chief’s son Joseph has found a new way in Christ,” a team member said. “He is now a devoted member of a church in his area.”
